       Lets first understand what is the internet. I think who is reading this blog have the basic idea of the internet. so from the simple terminology, we can say it is an interconnection of the multiple computer systems who can exchange the information from one place to another. This computer systems are connected using the LAN, MAN and WAN technology which enables us to connect the internet around any part of the world.

 With the use of the internet, we can use internet services like Gmail, Facebook, WhatsApp, and many internet services we daily basic use to access the needful information. This information is generated at the server computer is shared to the client computer which is located at different place around the global.

How the Internet of things work?

Today the internet is growing so fast and evolving himself with unlimited technology development over the last decade. Today the internet is not limited only to mobile or computer devices like desktop, laptop, and tablets, but also extend the connectivity beyond these standard devices to non-internet enabled physical devices and everyday objects.  Today our mobile is not limited to phone call also getting more smarted day by day. Today we can able to control our home appliances like your AC, fridge, and light, doors and other every object you interact with from anywhere using mobile devices. With the advance in embedded system technologies, the electronic devices with sensors like temperature gas motion sensor can cabapility to interact with another device by sharing useful information.  Using recent Embedded system technology these devices can communicate and interact with the internet, and they can remotely monitor and controlled by the internet of things without human intervention.

The internet of things (IOT) is the large network of devices such as home appliances and other embedded devices that contain electronics, software, senor, actuator, and the connectivity which allows these devices to connect, interact and exchange data.

It is a network of the devices, sensors, and another machine system which can communicate with each other using the internet world. This communication is not only limited to the computer system where an only computer or mobile devices can communicate. With the internet of things, every small device from a sensor inside the human body to a large machine system in the automation factory can be able to communicate to the internet to share the useful information and provide good service.

 This network will allow these object or devices to communicate with each other and exchange useful information without the intervention of human being.

Today the growing field of IOT have created much wide use of technology for consumer uses, like Smart home automation, Connected car, smart city, precision agriculture with smart farming, automation in industry and also in medical and healthcare.

Smart City:

With the smart city concept, every home using the smart home approach with the use of home automation. With home automation, we could be able to connect every device like lighting heating and air conditioning, media, and security system together which can be monitored and controlled using the remotely or automatically.  Fan or light should be automatically turn on or off based on the presence of peoples inside the room. AC temperature should be maintained based on environment factor. the garage door should be automatic when authorize vehicle enters to home.  Detection of any thread to the house should be raising a notification to the security system via email or surveillance call should be done automatically.

There are many smart home hug which provides IOT platform service that allows to connect the different smart home product and controlled via Wifi bridge at home. these hubs include Amazon Echo (Alexa), Google home.

IoT can assist the city transportation system by integration of communications, control, and information processing across various city transportation component bodies.  Dynamic communication between these bodies enables the inter and intervehicle communication (Driverless car), Smart traffic control, Smart parking, electronic troll collection system, and safety and road assistance.

Healthcare and Medical:

With the help of IOT system provide the digitalized health system, connecting the medical resources and healthcare service together to make smart healthcare. IOT help in enabling monitoring patient data, then data collection and analysis for research purpose.

These data can be processed and analyze over the internet cloud system to provide for better service and solution using cloud computing.

Today smartwatch can able to monitor your heart rate, steps measurement and sleep record which can be tracked and shared with the doctor using the internet app service. This is how IOT enables the tracking of health information using different IOT sensor devices. This IOT system also enables remote health monitoring and emergency notification system in a hospital environment.  

Agriculture:

IoT help in agriculture to enable smart farming by collecting data on temperature, humidity, soil nutrient, soil PH, soil moisture,  wind speed, and rainfall details information. These data can be used to automate the farming technique like irrigation and fertilization process. This will improve the quantity and quality of the crop with minimum waste and risk.

By 30 billion objects will be connected to the internet by 2020. so imagine the situation where the internet becomes so advanced that it can connect everything to the internet.
